1. What SoulTie Is

SoulTie is a communication and relationship-support application that allows couples to share feelings, communicate through guided prompts, and receive AI-assisted suggestions designed to improve understanding between partners.

SoulTie is not a medical, psychological, or counseling service. However, because the app involves emotional communication, we treat user information with heightened confidentiality.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Authentication provider ID (Apple, Google, or other login)

  • Display name or nickname

  • Unique user identifier

  • Device identifiers necessary for login and security

We do not collect your phone contacts or address book.

2.2 Partner Relationship Data

When you connect your account with a partner, we collect and store:

  • Partner connection status

  • Shared interaction records

  • Relationship session activity (such as completed conversations or reflections)

This data exists so both partners can view shared interaction results inside the app.

2.3 Emotional & Communication Content

SoulTie may store content you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Feelings and moods

  • Responses to guided prompts

  • Communication entries

  • Appreciation messages

  • Argument assistant sessions

  • Written reflections

This information may be visible to your linked partner within the app depending on the feature used.

2.4 AI Conversation Processing

When you use the Argument Assistant or guided communication features:

  • Your submitted text is securely transmitted to an AI processing service

  • The AI generates suggestions or reflections

  • The response is returned to the app

We do not manually read or monitor your conversations unless required for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

2.5 Technical & Usage Data

We automatically collect limited technical information necessary to operate the service:

  • Device type

  • App version

  • Operating system

  • Anonymous usage analytics (feature usage frequency, crash reports)

We do not collect precise GPS location data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the core communication features of the app
• Synchronize interactions between partners
• Generate AI-assisted communication suggestions
• Improve product performance and reliability
• Prevent abuse, harassment, and misuse of the service
• Maintain account security
• Provide customer support

We do not sell your private messages or emotional entries.

4. How Your Data Is Shared

4.1 With Your Partner

Certain information you submit is intentionally shared with your linked partner.

  • Guided conversation responses

  • Appreciation messages

  • Shared reflections

You control what you submit.
Anything you choose to share through a feature designed for partner visibility will be visible to your partner.

4.2 Service Providers

These providers process data only on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.

5. AI Data Processing

Important points:

We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the service.

You may delete your account at any time.
Upon deletion:

  • Your profile is removed

  • Partner links are disconnected

  • Personal communication entries are scheduled for deletion from active databases

Backup copies may remain temporarily for security and recovery purposes but are automatically removed within a reasonable period.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)

  • Secure authentication

  • Access controls on databases

  • Restricted internal access

However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.

8. Children’s Privacy

SoulTie is intended only for users 18 years or older.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we discover a minor account, it will be deleted.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access your data

  • Request correction

  • Request deletion

  • Withdraw consent

  • Disconnect your partner
